Expert trichologists say that hair of all types- dry, greasy, oily – is perfectly normal. What is abnormal is the lifestyle we adapt ourselves to. The diet we adhere to reflects on the health of hair.

Similarly a good physical exercise regimen will show positively over the health of your hair and vice versa. Below mentioned are some effective hair care home made recipes. You can try them all eyes closed. It’s better to use them on a frequent basis. In case your professional life offers you little time then follow the methods at least twice weekly.

Regular hair massage:

You can prepare your own homemade hair massage oil. All you need is

1 egg yolk
1 tbsp castor oil
1 tbsp onion juice

Mix the above mentioned ingredients thoroughly and massage your scalp first in clockwise and then in anticlockwise fashion for at least15 minutes. This acts as a great stress buster too. You can shampoo your hair after that.

If you do not want to shampoo your hair, leave the oil over hair after massage overnight then try this.

Heat dry amla along with coconut oil until amla becomes black. Leave it for some time to cool. Massage the scalp with this oil and leave it overnight. A massage like this one will darken the hair. It acts like a natural hair dye. You can shampoo your hair the next morning.

Homemade Shampoo

Try making natural, herbal shampoo at home. It’s going to be fun too. All you need is:

100 gm henna powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 egg
2 tbsp shikakai powder

Mix the above mentioned ingredients thoroughly in an iron utensil and leave it at least for two hours. You can now apply the mask initially rubbing it into the scalp. Cover the hair and do not allow the mask to dry. You can wash your hair after two hours.

Homemade hair conditioners

After shampooing your hair you can naturally condition your hair either with decoction made from mint (pudina) or tea leaves. You need to rinse your hair with the decoction and leave it over for 10 minutes. You can then wash your hair with water.

You can also rinse your hair with acetic acid diluted in one liter water. This is said to be effective against alopecia (hair thinning).

Do have a precise hair care regimen and follow it religiously. The results are for you to see.
