Masterchef India Season 2:It’s official now, team Akshay is coming back! Chef Kunal Kapoor, Chef Ajay Kumar and veteran culinary expert cum actor Akshay Kumar are coming back on your television screen after successfully completing the premier season of Masterchef India. However, there is no official announcement on celebrity cook judges, but it is confirmed that Akshay will host the show once again.
MasterChef India is a different type of show where ordinary people who have extraordinary cooking skills get a chance to win the title of Best Cook of India. No formal training in food industry is mandatory to participate in the show. All you require is a keen interest in food. However contestant’s age must be above than 18 years on the day of registration.
You can register through mobile text message or by simply filling up a registration form available on Starplus website: http://starplus.startv.in/masterchef2/Register.aspx. You can also register yourself for the show by sending an SMS: “AKSHAY” to 57827.
Keep in mind to read rules and regulations of Master Chef India 2011 show while registering. Once you get short listed you will be called for audition at the following venues.

The registrations will close in mid of July this year. Still there are no official words on the format of show. But I hope it is going to be as exciting as it was last year. So, it is a time to show off your culinary skills and win a ticket for MasterChef India season 2!

Better call it Masterchef North India….. not Masterchef India….. the session 1 was the most pathetic cooking show hosted by most pathetic host A. Kumar ( plz he shud concentrate on his film carrer now… which is going down everyday)…. the Celebrity Judges in session 1 were ‘f***”…. after watching Masterchef Australia…. watching this show is totaly waste of time….. better call it an Entertainment show… where Drama is required not cooking style or Talent…
How true… why not Bangalore? I mean, really no South India places? Sigh.
I don’t think my mom would go to any of this places now. This show is just trying to be an entertainer… not looking for cooks from India. Last season started well, but then they selected the winner in like a few episodes — it was cheesy!

I’m very interested in joining master chef india and it has nothing to do with coming on television its just that cooking is my passion and i eat to at places to enjoy food so i can take back the taste to go back home and cook for my family
Dear Participant, don’t be disheartened if you are a very good cook and yet not selected for the Masterchef India season 2 ,please note that unlike the originals Masterchef UK, Australia, Masterchef India is not a cooking show . They are not really looking for people only with good cooking skills but they are looking for people who can cook, create drama, can tell some wicked stories or glamorous who can look good on TV.
I was present in Delhi auditions and saw all this happening. They have taken services of some students to taste food; they may not qualified enough to judge a person cooking good food for no. of years.
Thousands of people turn out and yes, I admit that it is difficult to judge them in a single day, but Star TV is claiming to find the best so they should have done it on more days and in more cities. People have come from far positions like Dehradun, karnal etc. imagine how can they keep their dish fresh after so many hours. For most of the people dish was rotten due to heat and time delay.
People were treated like animals and were made to stand in queues for 3-4 hours, Although there were lot of space inside the lakshmi studio in Noida. They could have put 500 chairs (which may not cost much) and serve water to participants. I saw participants fainting due to heat and long standing. I admit that they have communicated about these sorts of problems to participants but a little better management could have made the experience better.
The TV crew was not at all sympathetic to participants, they were only worried about the clips, the clips which you will see in the promos, ads and show where people were enthusiastically running are actually fake and have been created by forcing participants to do so, they are created like the ring masters do with a caged lion.
Don’t the participants deserve some sympathy, a humanitarian treatment, a potion of love and encouragement instead of pushing by bouncers, standing in sun for 3-4 hours without water. Why can’t a common man dream of coming on TV, he can. So will a big TV channel will take advantage of their helplessness and deliberately make the participants stand in sun and rain for hours just to show this on TV that how people are mad to participate in their show.
Is the human inside them is dead, don’t they have any moral responsibility towards the participants and treat them like human instead of TV crew literally forcing them to run , shout and smile to cover footage.
Is TRP and money has become a passion for the cash rich TV channels on the cost of thousands of helpless enthusiastic participants traveling from far who wants to show their cooking skills to the world. Is it punishment for them for dreaming to become famous. How different is the reality and what is shown on TV, these BIG channels have no moral responsibilities and human values, they just want to make money, earn TRP by showing the enthusiastic and running crowds which is far from reality.
I will request the BIG TV Channels to investigate and rethink on their strategies to conduct these kind of big programs instead of taking advantage of common people sentiments and treating them like animals.
The selection procedure should be made more transparent and human. A little respect, potion of love, encouragement should be shown to the participants so that they have respect for the channel and carry good memories when they go home, After all what these participants want? They are common man want to show their talent to the world?
